Mihai Rotaru

Mihai Rotaru leads the legal function of Banca Transilvania. He has worked in banking since 2006, first in financial fraud investigation and, from 2012, in core banking legal work. He has been among the lead experts on major Romanian banking M&A deals (Volksbank and Bancpost acquisitions by Banca Transilvania, Millennium Bank–OTP Bank) and on large performing and non-performing loan portfolio transactions.

He holds an MBA from the Maastricht School of Management and sits on the Legal Committee of the Romanian Banks’ Association. He was included in The Legal 500 GC Powerlist in 2019 and has pushed his team toward modern legal technology adoption.
